Outside the brunch spot, a homeless man sleeps on the ground. He momentarily rolls over to holler at a hipster girl, who looks to be doing the walk of shame. Still dressed in a leotard and tights, wearing “futuristic” shades and the dirty look of a hangover.

Inside the brunch spot, a group of young people huddle. One of them, who looks like he deliberately went for the “Shaggy” look, loudly sings along to The Doors. He acts like he is rolling, but it is uncertain if it is just an act or not.

In the bus shelter outside, a man attempts to lay across the seats in a very uncomfortable looking position, leaning up against his backpack. On top of his backpack sits a large macaw parrot, who seems at home in all the street noise.

This is Richard Hayne, President and CEO of Urban Outfitters. He’s also a supporter of Rick Santorum and donated over $13,000 to him. He’s against gay marriage and abortion.

His company pulled a pro-gay shirt back in 08, they also blatantly ripped off an Etsy designers work, featured a t-shirt for women that said “eat less” and most recently had a card with a “tranny” slur on in.

Why do you shop at this store? I imagine because you weren’t aware of these facts. Now you are, so stop shopping there.

Also here’s an example of the many tasteless, shitty things UO has sold that have been pulled in the past from their shelves and the people they’ve ripped off that we know of.

I’d heard that UO was antigay… well, I guess a company can’t be antigay, but the head of it can be. Anyway, I’d heard such things and I’m not sure if it’s what subconsciously made me stop going at the time, but I will say this: One major factor that may help you stop shopping there is that not only is their CEO homophobic and antiabortion, their prices are outrageous. Just think: you can stop supporting one antigay CEO AND save money! Not to mention their products stopped being worth a damn around 5 years ago. You could probably make a similar product to what they sell now if you went to a thrift store, bought a dress there, and used some scissors on it. Hell, add some ugly chunky old lady buttons. There. Why are you spending $300 on it from the UO?

She moved a little, but not enough, so he said “excuse me” again, a little louder. She jumped out of the way and said, “OK!
